Being committed to a healthy lifestyle shouldn’t land you in panic mode, especially when we exercise to de-stress. If the old adage ‘no pain, no gain’ isn’t exactly your idea of a good time, a holistic hangout could be the cure to your workout woes.

Holistic health is more than a pursuit of unlimited flexibility, discovering the ultimate green juice or a desire to look good in yoga pants. Taking a holistic approach to life is believing all parts of your body are interconnected. A holistic workout trains all different parts of an intricate muscle fibre in one session, like in a yogaPilates or stretch class.

Keep calm and stretch from your head to your toes, relieving the weight of daily activity that causes physical and mental strain. Inhale the benefits of getting bendy, as touching your toes relaxes your muscles, lowering the levels of the stress hormone cortisol. Trigger the body’s natural relaxation response with deep breathing in yoga, and grasp physical postures in Pilates that will teach you the ability to shift thoughts, and ultimately control your emotions.
